C-Section Scar Therapy

Gentle Scar Care. Restore Connection. Support Healing.

C-Section Scar Therapy is a specialised, gentle treatment designed to support healing after caesarean birth. Using advanced hands-on techniques, this therapy helps improve scar mobility, reduce discomfort, and restore connection between layers of tissue affected by surgery.

I am trained in Restore Scar Therapy, a respected and evidence-informed approach to scar care that works holistically with the body to support long-term recovery and wellbeing.

Why C-Section Scar Therapy Matters

A caesarean birth affects not only the skin but also deeper layers of fascia, muscle, nerves, and the lymphatic system. Even when a scar appears healed on the surface, restrictions beneath the skin can contribute to:

  • Pain or pulling sensations around the scar
  • Numbness, sensitivity, or discomfort
  • Lower back or pelvic pain
  • Postural changes
  • Digestive or pelvic floor symptoms
  • Reduced core strength or connection

C-Section Scar Therapy addresses these deeper layers to support functional healing and comfort.

What Is Restore Scar Therapy?

Restore Scar Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive approach to scar treatment that focuses on improving tissue mobility, hydration, and nervous system regulation. The techniques are slow, mindful, and respectful of the body’s healing timeline.

This therapy works with:

  • Scar tissue and surrounding fascia
  • The nervous system
  • Lymphatic and circulatory flow
  • Body awareness and reconnection

It is suitable even years after a C-section.

Benefits of C-Section Scar Therapy

C-Section Scar Therapy may help to:

  • Improve scar softness, mobility, and appearance
  • Reduce pain, tightness, pulling, or discomfort
  • Restore movement between tissue layers
  • Improve posture and core connection
  • Reduce numbness or hypersensitivity
  • Support pelvic and lower back comfort
  • Encourage lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling
  • Support emotional healing and body confidence

What to Expect During Your Session

Your first session includes a thorough consultation to understand your birth experience, symptoms, and goals. Treatment is carried out in a calm, supportive environment using gentle hands-on techniques.

n addition to manual scar therapy, I may also incorporate Deep Oscillation Therapy and a 6D Action negative pressure machine to further support healing.

Deep Oscillation Therapy uses gentle electrostatic impulses to create deep tissue vibration without pressure. This helps to:

  • Reduce pain and sensitivity
  • Support lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling
  • Improve tissue hydration and elasticity
  • Calm the nervous system and support healing at a cellular level

The 6D Action negative pressure machine works by gently lifting the tissue rather than pressing into it. This negative pressure technique helps to:

  • Improve scar and fascial mobility
  • Encourage circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Reduce adhesions and restrictions around the scar
  • Support deeper tissue layers safely and effectively

These tools are always used gently and appropriately, guided by your comfort, consent, and stage of healing.

You will remain comfortably covered at all times, with only the treatment area exposed. Pressure is light and always guided by your comfort and consent.

You may feel warmth, softening, emotional release, or increased awareness around the scar area. Aftercare advice and self-care techniques may be shared to support ongoing healing.

When Can You Start?

C-Section Scar Therapy can usually begin once the scar is fully closed and healed (typically from 8 weeks postpartum), or at any stage later in life if you are experiencing symptoms related to your scar.

If you are unsure whether this treatment is right for you, please feel free to get in touch.
